At the Ace Group we pride ourselves in being able to match our customers’ expectations with the reality of what can be achieved in the fabrication of shipping containers.

The Spark York development was a project that we assisted with both design and production. This consists of 23 upcycled shipping containers, arranged over two levels

There is a very industrial and modern feel to this particular project. Utilising scaffolding and scaffold boards to create their stairs and walkways. Spark York has gone from strength to strength over the last few years. They have developed their model from one of artisan producers to a more hospitality-based area

They wanted an externally clad unit; we can now offer either a wooden clad system or a living wall installation. The beauty of the living wall idea is that when installed close to a road can reduce the carbon particulates in the air by a considerable amount. Details of our Green Roof & Living Wall can be found below:

The roof is set at a gradient of 20 degrees, front to back, to allow for good drainage and also for help continually topping up the wall units water tank. This concept could also be improved via adding different versions of our living walls i.e.

• Using BEEAIR® units you would be adding to the visual aspect via more flowers all year round and attracting much more pollinating insects - this would increase the insect/m2 up to 35%

• Using HERBAIR® units you would be adding useable herb garden whilst slightly increasing the Co2 capture rate and also reducing airborne pathogens at a rate of 20% per cycle

• Using MOSSAIR® units you would seriously increase the pollution collection capacity as these units filter around 89% of harmful dust particles (PM - Really important in city centres and any built up area) from the air and are up to 5 times more effective at storing Co2 than Sedums as well as being antibacterial and helping reduce airborne pathogens from the air at a rate of 20% per cycle.

Carlisle Leisure Complex

We were recently asked to build a large leisure complex within the city walls of Carlisle. This involved the fabrication and conversion of 7x12m Containers.

This is an exciting development for the city of Carlisle and will incorporate artisan retail units alongside many fine bars and restaurants. The developer has used our modified containers to enhance the current use of the site for "social interaction and enhanced services to the playground and adjoining parkland facilities".

Customer Testimonial

I just wanted to send a quick email to say Thank you so much,  my parents went through fraud from another container company mid house move and were at their wits end, I rang yourselves and explained the situation to Ria who immediately understood their situation and not only managed to source us the perfect container but managed to get it delivered within 2 days! We cannot thank you guys enough. Your service was exceptional and really helped my parents out in their time of need.
The driver himself was so lovely and kind with my dad and Ria kept in contact with me the whole time from enquiring to after delivery. They are a credit to your company. My dad will definitely be recommending you to anyone who needs containers.

Thanks again!

A Thank You from The Valley Project

Dear John and Sam at Ace Containers,

I am writing to express our utmost thanks for the support you have provided to The Valley Project. The personal touch that you offered allowed us to share our vision with you and the containers you provided have made a huge difference to the project.

The donated container realised the children’s design for a large climbing tower that they could jump off of. This has by far been our most popular piece of fixed equipment and it makes a real statement as you enter ‘The Valley’.

Valley Project 2Valley Project Ace Containers

The project is going from strength to strength having fully embedded itself within the local community. We have developed strong partnerships with local organisations which enables funds to be directly drawn into Holme Wood for the benefit of the children and young people.

The Valley Project now runs 4 sessions per week after school and during holidays and over the last two years 750 different children and young people have played, built, created, laughed and made friends and memories. This number is increasing on a daily basis.

We now have 5 members of staff and a thriving junior volunteer section, children and young people are co designing the project and have recently made a video that was instrumental in securing long term funding

Again, thank you for your immense community spirit and support.

Yours sincerely,

Steven McHugh

Project Coordinator.

20 Shipping Containers Donated to Local Charities

Ace Containers gave away 20 shipping containers to good causes around Leeds. With the assistance of Spacewise, we launched an initiative to celebrate 20 years in business. We want this initiative to not just be a giveaway, but we wanted to be able to form long term commitments with the groups that we are assisting.

It’s not the first time we’ve given away containers to help those in need. Past beneficiaries include The Valley Project, Kidz Klub, The Real Junk Food Project, St Georges Crypt, Homeless Street Angels and CATCH.

Modified Container Project - September 2019

One of our regular customers approached us with an issue they were experiencing that needed resolving. The equipment they needed to house would not fit into a regular 40' container which they normally use, so they required a custom modification for their container. The team at Ace Containers got to work; by using a donor container we managed to extend the 40' container to 45'. We then fitted an emergency exit door, fitted a considerable amount of Unistrut to the interior of the container, repainted the exterior in their fleet colours and finally spray foamed the interior. A job well done and a very happy client!

What can containers be used for?

There are a lot of uses for storage containers and were going to have a look at a few today.

We offer modified containers which offer so many possibilities, for example you could create a new office space. Why do this? You may ask, well the dimensions of containers make them easy to join to expand your office space if you do decide to get bigger. Container offices can also be properly insulated, and partition walls can be implemented to create multiple rooms in one container. Our container modifications are unique and are suited to your specific needs.

Containers are also ideal for the storage of refrigerated items, it is a large space where you can keep lots of goods. You also don’t even need planning permission to have one, it can just be transported over to your location, no questions asked.

Containers can also be used for exporting and importing goods across the world. Like all of our containers the new builds are very strong to be able to withstand horrible and challenging weather.

You could transform a container in to anything you want from an office space to shower blocks or kitchen units. All you need to do is tell us what you want, and we can help you create the container of your dreams.

We are a company that has been running for 20 years and have been using the same yard for that length of time. We own our own yard and you are good to come and check out or storage container options on site. Give Ace Containers a call today.
